GAMES BY CANDLELIGHT

During our young lives there have been many storms that passed thru the London area and times when those sames storms used to cause the electricity in the house to shut off. It seemed forever before the city would fix the issues in the area and the lights were turned on and during those times we had to rely on our own ingenuity to create games or play by candlelight until the lights came back on.
One such night found my sister and I decided to play a game..I think it was checkers or parcheezi..but anyway..we set a candle between us and started to play... and with each movement of our turn I would rock towards the board and we kept hearing a crackling noise.... i would lean back and say ..hmmm what was that Cath?..I dunno she'd reply and we would return to the game... again I would lean forward to play my turn and then Cath.. and the crackling noise would start again.. Do you hear that?? what is that??...I dunno she said again..and the game commenced.. then a few minutes later .. Cath looked at me when I was about to play my turn and noticed every time I would move toward the board my hair was leaning into the candle... Your hair is on fire!!! ..she yelled.. batting my hair until it stopped sizzling...and to this day we can barely contain the laughter thinking about it.:)
