My parents had very interesting ways of conversing with each other when we were younger-so that we wouldnt know what they were talking about. Signals and looks and the typical whispers were soon replaced with a language that seemed to stump my brother and sisters and I until we worked out their secret.. of pig latin.. Pig Latin is a language game of alterations played in English. To form the Pig Latin form of an English word the initial consonant sound is transposed to the end of the word and an ay is affixed (for example, trash becomes ash-tray and plunder becomes under-play). The reference to Latin is a deliberate misnomer, as it is simply a form of jargon, used only for its English connotations as a 'strange and foreign-sounding language'; it could also be because the transformed words sound similar to Latin. I remember finally figuring it out and had fun relating back to them one day with
