a Sunday drive with John

It is cold and you tell me we are heading to "the Bruce" (Port Bruce, that is)
..I shudder at the thought of walking along the waters edge on such a cold day and you pass me the camera as you jump into the car and say its my job to find a subject. Im wondering if I will see anything special to document during this drive...(I'm just happy to be out of the city for awhile)..and as we drive closer you tell me of the places in the area and how old things are and you are really quite knowledgable but my mind wanders and I drift out towards the skyline with the cold air making me shiver. Im trying desperately to keep the camera still..and we're not even out of the car! Everything is soo dull and grey and lifeless.. until i spy a row of trees and the composition becomes clearer to the viewfinder... "Did you see something?"I hear you ask...and you try to find spots for me to take more and then you pull up to the nearest parking area to watch the ice floes which are not very large shift back and forth and in the distance I can see the windmills that run power to a small community..I start to snap away feeling like a photographer on a national geographic photoshoot....only to find out later that nothing is in focus..except for the very first photo of that silly row of trees...:)
