Seemed like this was a good year for me to see great movies. I got to the the Blind Side with my favourite .. Sandra Bullock- who won best actress.. Avatar..which disappointingly only got an award for best visual affects..hmmm,, and Hurtlocker ..well it seems that the one movie that I wasnt expecting to win and which had me turning into my pillow during the bloody scenes (I don't usually like war related movies)yet I watched it all the way through and there was something about it that was intriguing ...probably due to Jeremy Renner's character... I was surprised to find out later that the director was a woman..I thought a very unseemingly topic for a woman to direct ..yet how appropriate in this day and age... and it took almost all the awards.. who knew???
I even rented Inglorious Bastards and was surprised that the touchy subject matter had me riveted and again with my face plunged into a pillow for the bloody scenes ..but thrilled after that I got through it..immensely happy I did... Oh yes ... and on a quirky note .. my favourite Animated movie "UP" won an academy award for best animated film... a very sweet film..did I tell you I love animated movies??? I adore Pixar!!
